How a private label tea run works, from sample to finished tin

The sample set is 8–12 teas, 25–50 g each, at $59–99 plus courier at cost, credited in full against your first order. It is free for confirmed large-volume enquiries, and it takes two to four weeks to reach you.

Once the blends are chosen, your custom tin is designed in our studio and you see a 3D mock-up of it within two weeks. Production then runs 30–60 days under your trademark, with shipping time added on top.

Laboratory testing of the lot is arranged on request and quoted per lot, and the report reaches you before the balance payment.

The standards behind your private label spec sheet

We buy at origin and check each lot before shipment. Each listed tea ships with a spec sheet referenced to the Chinese national standard that governs its class, with ISO cross-references where an international standard exists.

GB/T 30766-2014 defines the six classes of tea, and the class standards set the grades, the sensory profile, and the physico-chemical limits. We align our teas to them across 41 research tracks, so a listing is a class and a grade rather than an adjective. The full table by class is on standards and compliance.

Named geographical-indication teas — xīhú lóngjǐng, bìluóchūn, ānjí báichá — carry their own GI standards on top of the class standard. We cite those per SKU on request.

Each retail-ready 100 g tin in our core range carries a QR code that opens that tea’s article in our encyclopedia at en.thetea.app. Your customer scans the tin and reads that tea’s article.

What to check before you pay the balance on a private label order

We hold no organic certification. Instead we arrange multi-residue laboratory testing of your specific lot on request, against GB 2763 for pesticide residues and GB 2762 for contaminants, quoted per lot, with the report delivered before the balance payment.

A first order is 50% to start production and 50% before shipment. The lot report therefore reaches you before the second 50% is due.

We cite standards and arrange testing. We are not a certification body, and we will not present ourselves as one.

Payment, shipping, and what we do not do

Orders are settled by T/T bank transfer against a proforma invoice from our licensed Chinese export partner: 50% and 50% on a first order, 30% and 70% on repeats, with samples payable online. Orders are payable by bank transfer, by card or through the local payment systems of your country. No NET-30/60 and no consignment.

Prices are set at origin in Chinese yuan (CNY), the standard for Chinese export, and converted at the day’s rate. Tier pricing by volume is in the catalogue, sent on enquiry. Freight is charged by volumetric weight, because tea is light and bulky. The full terms are on trade terms.

We quote EXW, FOB, or CIF from Chinese ports, and DAP for Russia and the EAEU through white-channel carriers. We do not ship DDP into the EU or the United States: it requires an importer of record on the ground, which we are not, so import clearance stays on the buyer’s side.

If your country cannot wire money to China, say so in the first message and we answer with a route that works. What buyers in each region normally use is set out on payments and shipping.

The limits are here rather than in a later email. Shipping from origin is slower than pulling stock from an EU warehouse; in exchange you get the current harvest and a lot you can trace to its origin.
